Truth is paradoxical. What we often believe is certain knowledge, or truth, is filled with apparent contradictions. That’s not a bad thing. It’s quite beautiful because it shows us how vast and limitless the universe really is. Truth is paradoxical because everything we know must also be defined by its opposite.
I was fortunate to have been raised partially by my aunt, like a second mother, and she taught me about meditation at a young age. We were living in Egypt at the time, and I would attend meditation classes and workshops with her at people’s homes. This was in the 90’s when meditation had not yet become a global trend.
Many of you don’t know, but I am not a full-time author. I do most of my writing in the evenings and on weekends.

How did I come up with my characters?
I read Stephen King's On Writing before starting my first novel, and took one piece of advice from his non-fiction book to heart. It was to write “situationally.” Instead of superfluous plotting, King starts his scenes with a situation – a single, often-bizarre, instance in time – and expands outwards from there. I attempted to do the same, and found that it helped me reach a word count far greater than what I’d published previously in non-fiction.
